Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Depart Nairobi in the morning for a scenic 4-hour drive through the Great Rift Valley, arriving at your camp nestled along the banks of a remote river ecosystem.
Activities:
- Guided nature walk along the riverbanks
- Cultural visit to a nearby Maasai village
- Afternoon relaxation with views of the river and surrounding hills
Overnight: Tented riverside camp
Day 2: Rift Valley Conservancy & Escarpment Adventures
Morning:
- Game drive in the conservancy, with sightings of elephants, giraffes, and antelope species
Afternoon:
- Scenic hike along the Nguruman Escarpment for panoramic views of the valley
- Optional: Baboon behavior walk with local conservation researchers
Evening:
- Night game drive or wildlife viewing from a hide
Overnight: Tented camp beneath fig trees
Day 3: Cross into Tanzania → Lake Natron
Travel:
After breakfast, depart for Tanzania, crossing the border en route to Lake Natron. This 3–4 hour drive reveals dramatic terrain and volcanic landscapes. (Valid passports and visas required)
Activities:
- Refreshing hike to the Ngare Sero Waterfalls
- Explore the saline shores of Lake Natron and witness vibrant flamingo colonies
- Optional: Night hike up Ol Doinyo Lengai, the “Mountain of God,” an active volcano sacred to the Maasai
Overnight: Lodge or campsite near Lake Natron
Day 4: Lake Natron Exploration & Departure
Morning:
- Bird watching around Lake Natron’s alkaline shores
- Optional visit to the ancient Engaresero Footprint Site
Afternoon:
- Begin return journey to Nairobi or continue into Tanzania to explore iconic destinations such as Serengeti or Ngorongoro Crater.
